Early Bird Chopping Club

11:00
  1. Early Bird Chopping Club OPTIONAL

Coffee on, onions out. Come early if wielding a wooden spoon brings you peace.

  2. Official hello

Coats off, drinks poured, dramatic reunion hugs distributed fairly.

  3. Mise en place circus

Chop, toast, taste, debate whether there is ever too much cumin.

    🔪
  4. The shakshuka lands

Eggs wobbling, bread tearing, phones briefly ignored.

    🍳
  5. Seconds & kitchen disco

Tea, tiny desserts, shared songs and a wholly avoidable group photo.

  6. The soft goodbye

Leftovers draft. Nobody is forced out, but the host may become horizontal.

SHOPPING LIST

For more than 6 people, use two wide pans. Crowded eggs are grumpy eggs.

    1

    Build the base

Soften onions and peppers in olive oil for 10 minutes. Add garlic, cumin, paprika and chilli; let everything get fragrant.

    2

    Make it saucy

Add tomatoes, season generously and simmer 15–20 minutes until thick enough to hold a little egg crater.

    3

    Drop the eggs

Make wells, crack in the eggs, cover and cook 6–9 minutes. Stop while the yolks still have a promising wobble.

    4

    Finish with flourish

Scatter feta, herbs and black pepper. Put the whole glorious pan on the table with warm bread.
